The Trident Story - What Does the Beretta Logo Mean?

Like all venerable 500-year-old companies, Beretta has evolved its logos over time: from the shield with "PB" for Pietro Beretta, to imagery like a duck with open wings and the straightforward "Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta." Then came the Trident, although it's not truly a trident at all.

The Trident was conceived by Gabriele D'Annunzio, a polymath who aimed to symbolize proactive determination. The encircled arrows symbolize three shots fired by a battleship engaging a potential enemy: the left arrow for the first warning shot at the stern, the right for the second at the bow, and the central arrow for the decisive shot aimed at the ship itself. This logo embodies the ethos of precision and resolve, known as "Dare In Brocca" or "hit the target."
